Field Trip to Children’s Symphony for 4th and 5th graders

Children’s Symphony Concert

Waco Hall on the Baylor University campus


4th and 5th graders only – no older or younger siblings permitted. (Consider partnering with another participating family. One parent can chaperone students at the concert while another stays with siblings.)

Tickets are $1 per person including adults.

If you are interested in attending, please e-mail with your name and number of participants. This is NOT an RSVP – we just need to gauge interest. We will send registration information in the next GWCHE newsletter.

Teaching packets will be available to participants. Here is the concert program:

Bernstein: Candide Overture
Benjamin Britten: Young People’s Guide to the Orchestra
Opera Feature: “Chacun le sait” from Donizetti’s “Daughter of the Regiment”
Three brief demonstrations (solo, duet, trio)
Piano feature: “The Wild Horseman” from Schumann’s Album for the Young
Dance feature: “Singing in the Rain”
Jazz feature: Ellington: “It Don’t Mean a Thing, If It Ain’t Got That Swing!”
Williams: Olympic Theme and Fanfare
