Let Civil War History Come Alive

Join us for a day of living history. We are taking a group to School Day at the Confederate Reunion Grounds in Mexia, TX. There will be stations for kids to participate in with living history and children’s activities. Civil War era social and recreational activities are included. There will be re-enactments with Confederate and Union Soldiers, as well as sutler camps selling Civil War era items. Where: FM 2705 Mexia, TX

Cost: $2 per student 1st grade and up, accompanying adults and 5 and under are free.

We will meet at the gates at 9 am. Families will pay separately at the gate by cash or check, made payable to Friends of the Confederate Union Grounds. Strollers are welcome. There will be loud noises intermittently, but not continuously. For lunch you may picnic or purchase a meal deal. The meal deals are $4 and include hot dogs, chips, cookie, and a drink and will require a reservation.
