Texas Elks Scholarships

Medical scholarship. Altrusa Club of Waco will accept scholarship applications through Dec. 15 for a $1,000 medical scholarship to be awarded to a woman enrolled in an accredited pre-med program at the college or university level with the ultimate goal of becoming a doctor. The scholarship also is open to women who are enrolled in a registered nursing or medical specialty program. To request an application, email

The Houston Livestock and Rodeo Scholarships:

LBJ Library $2500 scholarship (for student) plus $1000 savings bond for the student if homeschooled

The National Restaurant Association offers scholarships for students who will be pursuing a culinary career. The link to this scholarship program can be found at

Liberty Mutual Insurance for students who have initiated a service or volunteer program that directly impacts or actively engages their campus community

The Houston Livestock and Rodeo awards multiple scholarships in various categories of high school seniors.

The Hispanic Scholarship Fund application . You must be Hispanic to qualify for these scholarships.

The Gates Millennium scholarship program. This is a national scholarship and the criteria for this scholarship includes being an ethnic minority.

The AXA Achievement Scholarship . one criteria: Student demonstrates ambition and special consideration will be given to achievements that empower society to better face risk through education and action in areas such as financial, environmental, health and/or emergency preparedness.

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Scholarship . selected based on exceptional academic ability and achievement, financial need, persistence, a desire to help others, and leadership.
