These are just some of the challenging questions that confronted finalists in the 19th annual National Geographic Bee–where 14-year-old Caitlin Snaring declared victory, the second girl to win the competition in its 19-year history.

If you are a geography enthusiast and in grades 4-8, you have the opportunity to participate in the National Geographic Bee through GWCHE!!! The winner of GWCHE’s bee can advance to state and even to the national level!

The GWCHE Geography Bee is tentatively scheduled for early January, but we need to register with National Geographic with the minimum number of students by October 6th.   Before we register, we need to see how many children are interested in participating. Each “school” must have a minimum number of students to qualify for advancement.

Our registration deadline from National Geographic is  October 6th, so don’t delay! More students can register after October 6th, but if not enough register before then, we cannot have a GWCHE Geography Bee.
