Meeting Information

General meetings are usually held August, September, October, January, February, April and May. General membership meetings are normally held on the third Thursday night of the month at Highland Baptist Church, 3014 Maple Ave., in Waco. Click here for map. Sign-in time is from 6:30-6:45 p.m. The sign-in begins at 6:30 p.m. The meetings start between 6:45 p.m-7:00P.M.

Our meetings are held in the Highland Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Please park in the parking lot behind the Highland Office which is on Maple Avenue. You may enter the parking lot on 30th street, circle around back of the buildings, and then through the cul de sac to enter the small parking lot behind the education building. The Fellowship Hall is in the Education Building (up the outdoor flight of stairs). Our GWCHE banner will be hung on the railing before each meeting. After making your your way up the stairs, the Fellowship Hall is through the first door on the right.

Non-members are invited to come and observe one meeting before joining GWCHE. However, we ask that you join GWCHE if you plan to attend additional meetings. Dues will remain at the low price of $25, which allows you access to all GWCHE functions. Please note that there will no longer be a reduced fee for joining later in the year.

September General Meeting

 

Cooking with Story Books  

Thursday, September 16th  

Highland Baptist Church

6:30 P.M. 

Make a dish to represent a story. 

For example, 

“The Little Gingerbread Man”- Bake gingerbread cookies. 

“Little Red Hen”- Make bread. 

“Stone Soup”- Cook soup, and don’t forget to add the stone. 

“Carrot Stew”- Whip out those carrots! 

“The Billy Goats Gruff”- Try making Trip Trap Triskets. 

“The Three Little Pigs” – Cook up Pigs in a Blanket. 

“Noah’s Ark”- Cut out some animal cookies.

Don’t forget to bring your book. 

Please BYOB (Bring Your Own (picnic) Blanket).
